Genie Gunn, Food and Nutrition Manager at Verner Center for Early Learning, has done it again! For the second year in a row, Gunn has been selected in the top 10 for the Culinary Creations Awards given by Premier Inc., a leading healthcare improvement company, in a nationwide recipe contest. Her recipe, Not Your Nonna’s Lasagne, was well received as Gunn heads to Nashville, Tennessee to represent Verner.
“This is everything you crave in a lasagne: filling, luxurious, and full of umami flavor. By incorporating all plant-based ingredients, this recipe allows the familiar indulgence without breaking the fat and calorie bank. Don’t even call it vegan on your menu – just add salad and breadsticks and Mangia!” says Gunn.
Gunn was named the national winner last year at the Culinary Creations Dinner during Premier’s annual Foodservice Forum, at the 2018 Breakthroughs Conference and Exhibition, which drew more than 4,000 providers and suppliers to Nashville, Tennessee June 19-21.
Premier operates the industry’s largest foodservice purchasing program, offering savings to providers across all 50 states. The program provides aggressive contracts with foodservice manufacturers, industry leading value-added services and educational opportunities.
