Family Seminars & Workshops

Family Engagement
We provide family workshops and training opportunities on various topics throughout the year depending on the families interest. Please check with the Director of Family Engagement, your Family Advocate or our social media pages for more information.

  • Family Engagement Opportunity Web
  • Circle of Security

Each child comes into this world seeking a secure relationship with their caregivers. The Circle of Security Program helps promote that security. It is an 8 week relationship-based early intervention program that offers caregivers a path to a secure attachment. This workshop will help you become aware of their needs and whether your own responses meet those needs.

Learn more about Circle of Security found on their website.  Please contact Whitney Smith, Director of Family Engagement to sign up for the next workshop.

Dial 2-1-1 or visit their website to connect with a network of over 18,000 resources right here in North Carolina - it is a resource and referral line that is funded by United Way of Buncombe County.  We strive to connect our families with valuable community resources. Here is a list of resources suggested by our Director of Family Engagement.

At Verner, we want to provide a place where all children and their families are supported and successful. We believe the partnership between family, community and school is critical to ensure all children and families thrive. We encourage parents to be their child’s first teacher and provide support and training opportunities to engage our families in their child’s education. On this page, you will find a complete list of family and community resources.
