What do you do at Verner?:
I oversee the administration of our Early Head Start program, write grants to help financially support our work, and ensure that we are complying with federal regulations as well as requirements for any grant monies we receive.
What are your credentials/past experiences, for working in your position?:
I have a Bachelor's degree in government from The College of William and Mary, and worked in grassroots campaigning and fundraising after college. I have about 11 years of experience in early childhood education (ECE), six of those at Verner. This position gives me an opportunity to combine my experience in and passion for ECE with my educational background and interest in government.
What do you like about working at Verner?
There are so many things I like! I love the work that we do for children and families, and I love how passionate everyone is about doing that work well. I also appreciate the supportive environment and there are so many opportunities for professional growth and development. I also love that my three year old daughter is right down the hall!
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
Most of my time outside of work is spent hanging out with my daughter, playing, reading, and enjoying the outdoors. I also like hiking and running, which my husband and I often do with our daughter. She's even run a race already!
