About Verner
Why Verner?

At Verner Center for Early Learning, we provide 5-star comprehensive care and education to over 300 children and their families at three centers and through a home-based Early Head Start program.
We also provide families with supportive services through programs such as Family Empowerment Program, Rainbow In My Tummy® and individualized case management to families in crisis. We were founded to ensure that all children have access to high quality affordable care.
Our blended program accepts vouchers, as well as private pay families. Verner is also an Early Head Start and North Carolina Pre-Kindergarten provider.
Our two centers are located in East Asheville on Riceville Road, and in Central Asheville in the Emma Community. Our Home-Based Education program serves families in their home, for qualifying families, which is a part of the Early Head Start Program.
Through these centers, we have 40 highly qualified teachers and teacher’s assistants to care for our children. In addition, Verner also employs support staff and administrative specialists who work with teachers to ensure a child and their family is receiving all the care and services they need.

Vision
An early childhood education community where every individual thrives.
Mission
Verner delivers high-quality educational and relationship-based learning environments from prenatal to pre-kindergarten where every individual (child, family, staff, and faculty member) is valued and respected. Our programming is comprehensive, culturally meaningful, resiliency-focused, trauma-responsive, and child- and family-centered. We connect with families and early education partners to provide integrated services. We support family wellbeing throughout a child's development, so our whole community can lead healthy, happy, and productive lives.
